World Quality Day – Heathcare Series – Nov 12th, 2020; Time – 4 – 5 30 pm

About the Program

November is the Month of Quality and world over the focus will shift to improve the QUALITY FOCUS of businesses during this month.

World Quality Day is celebrated on November 12th 2020 and the Global Theme this year is to CREATE CUSTOMER VALUE.

Consultants Consortium of Chennai, along with the support of Industry Stakeholders is organising a session for Medical Testing Laboratories.

Covid 19 pandemic has brought to light the importance of Medical Testing and role of labs in addressing the community needs. It also brought to focus the limitations this domain had in serving the communities as the minimum requirements were not met by majority of the labs in the country to qualify for the testing criteria.

India has more than 1 lakh Medical Testing Labs which are standalone labs in nature. In addition this we have labs attached to Hospitals, other healthcare organisations like Clinics, Polyclinics etc.

We have a well defined Conformity Assessment Structure, in alignment with Global Structure, in the country. We had Medical Labs implementing ISO Standards way back 15 – 20 years ago. Then we had seen the Labs migrating towards Accreditation framework too.

Oflate, we are seeing the trend towards introducing Minimum Standards Focus across the globe.

Even after 20 years of having a well defined Conformity Assessment Structure in the country, we hardly have touched a 5000 mark where labs have obtained Authentic Certifications , Accreditations so far. One of the fundamental reason is the readiness of the Labs to adapt Accreditation norms which call for highest level of competency , which 80 – 90% of the labs in the country may not meet. 5 – 10% of the labs may meet the requirements of ISO Standards like ISO 9001.

What will happen to the rest of the labs in the country and how to bring them under Conformity Assessment Structure to assure Safe Healthcare to Patients.

Standards may be Minimum but Quality of Care in Healthcare should always be Maximum. This message has to be understood by all. This is what communities expect from Healthcare and Value to Patients / Customers mean understanding their specifications, needs and offering Quality Services accordingly.

Come and listen to the Panel Discussion on Nov 12th 2020 from 4 – 5 30 pm where you will find multiple stakeholders of the Medical Labs Conformity Assessment Structure brainstorm about the way of doing business to create Value for Customers / Patients by offering Safe Healthcare.
