Quit the IAS in 1983 to promote a pioneering bio-medical devices company which he grew and ran till 2012. During this time , he became familiar with the challenges of entrepreneurship in India, and have worked at helping to create an eco-system that will help startups. Even while running his company, he mentored several startups, and has continued doing this more actively after selling my company and retiring from an active role.
Mr Leo Mavely :
Founder and CEO of Axio Biosolutions (India) and Advamedica Inc,( Cambridge, Massachusetts . ) a medtech company focused on biomaterials, hemostats and advanced wound care. A bioengineer by qualification with a mission to create affordable, impactful healthcare solutions.
As an incubatee of Nirma Labs ( 2007-2008 ) , he got to develop the core technology of Project-1006 from concept to product stage. On successful completion of the incubation project, it was then spun out as a privately held company which later attracted angel funding and received a government grant from DST.
