Forest (Conservation) Rules 2022 – Notification dated 28th June 2022 issued by The Ministry Of Environment Forest And Climate Change (MoEFCC)

The Ministry Of Environment Forest And Climate Change (MoEFCC) has issued a Notification on Forest (Conservation) Rules 2022 on 28th June 2022

These Rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

The Ministry of Environment has advised each State / Union Territory Administration to constitute a 5 member Project Screening Committee.  The Project Screening Committee shall meet atleast twice every month to examine the proposals submitted to the State / Union Territory relating to dereservation of forest land, use of forest land for non-forest purposes or for assignment of lease etc.

The Project Screening Committee shall examine the proposal received from the State Government or Union territory Administration, except proposals involving forest land of five hectares or less, without going into the merit of the proposal

The Project Screening Committee may call the user agency for clarification or additional document requirement. On examination of the proposals, they will give recommendation to the State Government or Union territory Administration.
